123 Andrés are a husband-and-wife duo that creates children's music in both English and Spanish. They have performed for audiences across the US as well as in Puerto Rico, Panama, and Mexico. They have performed at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, and on PBS Kids. They have been winners of the Best Latin Children's Album category at the Latin Grammy Awards for Arriba Abajo, and nominated for Grammy Awards in the same category in 2021 for Actívate. In 2024, they won the Grammy Award for Best Children's Music Album for their album We Grow Together Children's Songs.
Andrés grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, and learned how to play the guitar from his father at an early age. He had his first studio experience at age 8, and from there he went on to earn a Doctorate in music and won the National Composition Contest in Colombia for one of his early songs.
Christina grew up in the Midwest in a Spanish-speaking immigrant family from Colombia. Her love for the stage started when her mom signed her up for theater and dance as a child. After college she worked in the classroom as a public school teacher, and received a Masters in Education. When she joined 123 Andrés, she found her calling teaching through music.
123 Andrés will be presenting 3 workshops for Norwood-Norfolk k-2 and Headstart as well as a 1 pm concert for NNCS Elementary. The eveing concert at the band shell begins at 7 pm. Families are encouraged to bring their pre-school and new school children to the evening performance.
